Teacher dead and two others injured after French school knife attack

One person has reportedly died following a stabbing at a school in France.

Gérald Darmainin, the Interior Minister, said the attack took place at the Gambetta High Scooth in northern Arras.

The suspect, believed to be a former student in his 20s, has been arrested alongside his brother.

The deceased is believed to be a French Language teacher, whilst the Deputy Head and a PE teacher are thought to have suffered serious injuries.

Pupils have spoken about the incident, stating the man 'told them to leave'. He is also said to have shouted 'Allahu Akbar' whilst stabbing the teacher.

Images have emerged of the victims heroically attempting to fight off the armed man with a chair in the school car park, whilst students filmed from their classroom windows.

France's president Emmanuel Macron is due to visit the school later today, where pupils are currently confined to their classrooms.
