Johnny Depp WINS defamation case against abuser Amber Heard

After a gruelling 6 weeks of testimonies and hearing from Johnny Depp and Amber Heard themselves, the jury have finished their deliberations.

Johnny Depp has won his defamation case after he courageously spoke about the abuse he endured at the hands of his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Depp filed the defamation suit once Heard published an Op-Ed in The Washington Post in 2018, claiming to have ‘faced our cultures wrath’ after she ‘spoke up against sexual violence’.

She wrote:

…Two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out.

Although not mentioning his name, it was very clear that Heard was referring to abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of her ex-husband.

However, evidence presented during the trial proved Heard’s allegations to be false and instead revealed that the abuser was in fact Heard herself.

The outcome is a huge step forward for male domestic abuse victims, showing that justice will be served.

The trial was televised across the world, with thousands of people watching each day and witnessing the evidence in which proved Amber Heard’s far-fetched claims to be false.

Depp was accused of physical, emotional and sexual violence against Heard during the span of their marriage.

He was not present for the verdict, although his team of lawyers including Camille Vasquez and Ben Chew were.

As Amber once told him:

Tell the world Johnny. Tell the world that I, Johnny Depp, I am a victim of domestic violence too… and see who they believe’

And he did just that.
