Queen Elizabeth II has died aged 96 after 70 year reign

Buckingham Palace announced just moments ago that Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, has died aged 96 after 70 years on the throne.


The news comes after the Queen was placed under medical supervision on Thursday, with the Palace releasing the following statement:


"Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.'


Her Majesty passed away peacefully at Balmoral surrounded by her family.
